How to fit acrylic splashbacks

Acrylic splashbacks can be easily fitted, without the need for professional help, directly to almost any flat surfaceusing our versatile and durable double sided PE foam tape

Our double sided tape has been specially selected for its resistance to water, UV and temperature fluctuations which make it ideal as a long-term fixing solution without the mess of adhesives. This tape is suitable for indoor/outdoor use and is ideal for mounting panels in kitchens, bathrooms and other demanding environments.

Suitable mounting surfaces:

  • Painted / unpainted plasterboard
  • Tiling
  • MDF

Step 1

The mounting surface should be flat, dry, clean and grease free. If the surface is porous e.g. plaster, mdf or wood then it is recommended the surface is sealed first with a watered down PVA mix or specialist sealant.

Step 2

Remove the protective film from the back face of the splashback and apply our double sided foam tape in vertical strips approximately 150mm apart. Do not remove the protective film from the front face of the  splashback or the backing from the tape at this point.

Step 3

Test fit the splashback before removing the backing tape. If small adjustments are required, it is possible to remove a few millimetres by gently filing and sanding the edges. To get a good finish you should finish off any sanding with a 600grit or higher sandpaper.

Step 4

Once you are happy with the fit, simply remove the backing from the tape and then push to the wall. It is advised to firmly press all areas of the splashback to ensure a good bond is created. The tape has high immediate bonding strength so bear this in mind. The bond strength will continue to increase for up to 14 days.
