Also known as 'Polyoxymethylene' or Delrin, Acetal has a high resilience to damage from forceful impacts even as it reaches the bottom end of its operational temperature range. Moreover, each Delrin Rod possesses fantastic dimensional stability, very good creep stability and a high mechanical strength; not to mention it is quickly becoming considered as the go-to engineering plastic material whenever a Computer Numerical Control machine (CNC) is involved.
The reason for this is that Acetal is an extremely generous material when it comes to machining, more so in fact than many other engineering plastic materials. A Delrin rod chips instead of producing a continuous shaving that might obstruct the tool being used and it does not burr, so you will not have to waste any time de-burring your Acetal Rod after you have finished machining it.
We offer Black Acetal Rods and Natural Acetal Rods in lengths of 500mm or 1000mm on Cut Plastic Sheeting, and there is no chance of their size fluctuating because Delrin rods have a very low moisture absorption rate; which grants them an impressive degree of dimensional stability.
