Aluminium Composite Panels

Aluminium Composite Panels (often known as ACM) are frequently described as sandwich panels due to their construction which sandwiches a polyethylene core between two aluminium cover sheets. This design gives the material its notable strength, rigidity, and lightweight properties, making it an ideal construction material. One of the standout features of ACM is its high-quality finish which becomes especially advantageous when adding text or graphics; the enhanced design is immediately evident once printed. Despite its flat and robust nature, the material is highly adaptable and can be moulded to fit various project requirements, making it versatile for both indoor and outdoor applications. Users will appreciate its resistance to staining – dirt and other marks can be easily wiped off. Key Differences

  • Aluminium Composite Panels are more likely to remain flat after installation without any wrinkling. It will retain its shape even in extreme temperatures, whereas standard aluminium may not.
  • Aluminium Composite Panels are more likely to dent and is not impact resistant to extreme storms for example. Standard aluminium, however, can be strengthened by welding several pieces together.
  • If the joints are not sealed properly, Aluminium Composite Panels may allow water to leak in when it rains.
  • Although both types of aluminium are light, the standard form is a little lighter due to the single sheet density. This may be preferable if you are fitting it on your own.
