Our wall panelling strips are made from standard MDF which is a common material for interior applications. Standard MDF is a lightweight material that each easily machined and does not warp, crack or splinter. It also has a smooth surface which is ideal for painting. Please note, that standard MDF is not a moisture-resistant material so in its standard form, it would not work well in areas prone to moisture. Standard MDF also needs to be properly primed or else it will absorb the paint – please view or MDF Wall Panelling page for more information.

What is wall panelling?
Wall panelling is a decorative architectural feature that is commonly found in traditional homes but has come back into fashion over the past few years. Wall panelling consists of horizontal boards or panels that are typically installed perpendicular to the wall surface. This allows for walls to be painted or decorated without having to remove and replace the entire board.
A modern panelled wall effect or shaker style panelling can add warmth and character to any room and its appearance can be modified by adding different types of finishes such as varnish, paint, or stucco. Additionally, it can serve as an easy way to conceal unsightly wires and seams on your walls.
Why is wall panelling so popular?
Wall panelling has become very popular in recent years for a few reasons. Firstly, it is a relatively low-cost way to add personality and style to any room in your home. Additionally, wall panelling can be made from various materials that are both durable and easy to clean. And lastly, wall panelling provides insulation and soundproofing benefits which make it perfect for use in rooms where you want to keep noise levels down.
So if you’re looking to spruce up your home without breaking the bank or dealing with tough cleaning tasks, then wall panelling may just be the solution!
