Much like an acrylic mirror, polycarbonate may be cut and drilled with household hand tools, but it is marginally more difficult to cut due to its surface hardness. However this hardness makes the material easier to drill, and a conventional drill bit may be used close to an edge with far less chance of cracking.
Polycarbonate mirrored discs are superbly low maintenance, and they are more resistant to chemicals than acrylic though they may still scratch so care should be taken to use a soft cloth. With careful maintenance the excellent reflective properties of polycarbonate will be retained, making these mirror discs a lightweight and terrifically strong alternative to glass.
