Plastic Kitchen Splashbacks : Aubergine Acrylic Kitchen Splashback (Gloss Finish)
Aubergine Acrylic Kitchen Splashback (Gloss Finish)
Sturdy, durable and completely waterproof, acrylic is the perfect splashback material; made better still by its low-upkeep and the enduring quality of its colour.
Acrylic as a material is renowned for being damage resistant and easy to maintain. Any dust or grease that does manage to get on it can be easily wiped away with a cloth or some kitchen towel; unlike alternative splashback materials, such as steel, which are notorious for being difficult to clean.
Extremely popular and growing ever more so, acrylic splashbacks are available in a range of different colours, augmented by their stunning gloss finish. These aesthetic features allow the splashbacks to blend in with any style of décor effortlessly, making them an ideal addition to any kitchen or even bathroom.
In addition to these long-term benefits, acrylic splashbacks are extremely light and the installation process is incredibly simple and straightforward; to the point that you will not need to be a DIY aficionado to get the job done.
It is important to note that whilst acrylic is an especially tough material, it should not be placed near the hob unless covered in a protective layer of glass or kept at a suitably safe distance. When cleaning acrylic it is important to use a sponge, cloth, etc. with a soft surface, as acrylic can become tarnished and scratched if something like a Brillo Pad or wire sponge is used.

Q. Is acrylic sheeting suitable for use as a splashback behind a hob or oven?
A: No. Temperatures of over 60°C will affect acrylic, so it is not suitable for use in close proximity to heatsources. A popular solution is to protect the acrylic splashback directly behind the heat source with a sheet of toughened glass.
Q. If I do want to use it near a heat source, what is a suitable distance?
A: While we insist that acrylic is not suitable as a splashback behind a heat source, if you do wish to use behind a heat source it's recommended that one metre clearance is allowed.
Q. How do I clean my acrylic kitchen splashback?
A: Acrylic is incredibly easy to wipe clean and keep in a good condition. Just use a soft, non-abrasive, anti-static cloth, along with a mixture of washing up liquid and water. If you wish to use cleaning products, please check that they are suitable for the material first.
Q. How do I fix my acrylic splashback to the wall?
A: Acrylic panels can simply be fixed to the wall with screws, and you can order your sheet with pre-drilled holes from our site. If you wish to drill the holes yourself, you can follow our 'how to drill acrylic' guide.
