Coated on both sides with a special lacquer, these aluminium composite panels can be printed upon directly, effectively and with extremely vivid clarity. Dibond is a sheet of plastic sandwiched between two sheets of aluminium.
As each and every sheet is coated on both sides printing can be accomplished on either of its surface. This is especially handy as each sheet has one matte surface and one glossy one; allowing you to pick the one which will best suit your purposes.
You may already be familiar with this kind of material as it is known by many under various trade names, such as Dilite, ACM, Raybond, Raynobond, Dibond Digital, Alucobond or sandwich panel. In essence though all of these are different words for the same thing: A sheet of plastic (called polyethylene) sandwiched firmly in between two thin veneers of aluminium.
Because of the attributes inherent to both of the materials, and also the manner by which the two materials are put together and fused, Dibond sheets retain the positive aspects of both components, allowing it to succeed in situations and environments that neither on the materials individually would be suitable for.
This new found flexibility allows Dibond to be adopted for any one of a whole host of potential projects. Signage is where you will find the majority of these composite sheets being used, and they can typically found on building sites, outside properties for sale & to let, car parks, by road sides, so by and large they are anywhere where a sturdy display is needed for potentially long-term or repeated use.
In addition to its calling as a word-class signage material, these aluminium-polyethylene hybrids are regularly used for cubicle partitions, false-ceilings, exhibition stands and temporary kiosks.
Please Note: Our current machines work to a tolerance of +/- 1mm. Please enter your requirements to the nearest whole mm.
We may sometimes substitute Dibond for other aluminium composite sheets which have almost identical physical properties. If you have any concerns about this please contact our sales team on 01752 917434 prior to ordering.
Colour of sheets may differ slightly due to variances in your computer display.
We have access to almost any grade or brand of Aluminium Composite Panel on the market. If you require a specific product not listed on our website and wish to order by the full sheet, please email Nick.Down@cutplasticsheeting.co.uk or phone our sales team on 01752 917434.
The strength, light weight and rigidity of Dibond Aluminium Composite Sheeting make it a popular choice of material for a variety of applications, including creative projects where it can accommodate image and text printing. These uses include:

Great for oil painting Reviewed by Petrus on 28 Aug 2017
The Dipond Aluminium Composite panels were recommended to me by a renowned portrait artist as an excellent base for oil painting. I have since used them for my own painting having given them a gentle sanding and coatings of gesso. I am very pleased with the result. They are light and easy to store and will serve me well when I come to do my next art fair. I will be ordering more. Now that I've tried them out with small scale paintings (A4) I will go on to order larger sizes. Service is good. I did have to wait a little while for my size to come into stock, but it was no problem. I look forward to using this company in future.

Make sliding cupboard doors Reviewed by Anonymous on 03 Feb 2017
We have used the White Dibond Aluminium Composite sheeting to make two sliding doors to an awkward cupboard situated in the corner of the Office where there is no room to fit conventional hinged cupboard doors. The runners used top and bottom to support the composite sheet are plastic 4mm wide tracks. The composite sheet was chosen being 3mm wide with rounded corners to run smoothly in the tracks whilst providing a need and clean finish to the cupboard exterior. Had to rely on the description provided on the website for the product and though I have never tried this before, it seems to have worked well.
Refitting a boat... Reviewed by MartinB on 15 Nov 2016
I've been upgrading the electronics in our boat and some of the new equipment is smaller than the devices it is replacing. This left me with a problem since the holes cut into the instrument panels are now too big. The instrument panels are white glassfibre composite and I had expected to have to rebuild them with fibre glass matting and epoxy resin but this would be a long job to do well and epoxy is tricky stuff to use in cold weather. I mentioned this to a friend who is a professional marine engineer and he recommended Dibond. For £30 I bought a plate the same size as the instrument panel and screwed this over the original panel. I then cut holes through it to take the new instruments and fitted them. Dibond proved to be strong and easy to work. The result is not invisible, but it looks fine and I got the whole job done in an hour rather than the many hours spread over two or three days that it would have taken to rebuild with GRP.
