Description

Clear High Impact Acrylic Sheet is a good choice where increased resistance to blows and impact are important. These clear acrylic sheets are seven times more impact resistant than ordinary acrylic and as much as 70 times stronger than glass. Ideal for a wide range of applications where increased durability is important.

Key Features:

  • Better scratch resistance than PETG or polycarbonate

  • Suitable for edge polishing
  • Supplied with protective film on both sides

Impact Modified acrylic is produced by adding elastomers to the material before extrusion. These additions make the material more impact-resistant, but also slightly reduce the surface hardness and optical clarity. Varying degrees of impact modification is possible however 45% is most commonly used. It is available cut to size and shape with various thicknesses – please contact our sales team if you would like a quote for volume orders.

Please Note: This special-purpose acrylic is ideal for screening windows liable to accidental damage and can be used to screen balconies and to provide protection against sports (eg golf and football). It is also relatively vandal proof so is a good choice where this sort of damage might occur.

Clear high-impact acrylic Sheets are modified with elastomers during the extrusion process, making them up to seven times more impact-resistant than regular acrylic and about 70 times stronger than glass. This makes them an ideal choice for applications requiring increased durability and resistance to impacts.

2. How does the optical clarity of this acrylic compare to other materials like polycarbonate or PETG?

This high-impact acrylic offers excellent optical clarity that is superior to materials like polycarbonate and PETG. It provides a clear and unobstructed view, making it an ideal material for various applications where visual quality is crucial.

3. Can this acrylic be used for protective purposes?

Yes, its high impact resistance makes it a preferred material for protective barriers or shields. It’s often used in settings like balconies, screening windows susceptible to accidental damage, and sports enclosures to protect against stray balls in games like golf and football.

4. What about scratch resistance?

Our Clear High Impact Acrylic Sheet boasts better scratch resistance than PETG or polycarbonate. However, it is worth noting that adding elastomers to make the sheet more impact-resistant does slightly reduce its surface hardness.

5. Is the material machinable?

Yes, this acrylic sheet is machinable. It can be cut, drilled, and shaped as per your specific requirements. It’s also suitable for edge polishing, offering a smooth, clean finish.

6. Is this product vandal-proof?

While no material is completely vandal-proof, the high impact resistance of this acrylic sheet makes it a tough opponent against vandalism. It’s an excellent choice for environments where such damage is a concern.

7. What thicknesses are available?

8. Is there a protective film on the acrylic sheet?

Yes, each sheet is supplied with a protective film on both sides to ensure it reaches you in optimal condition.

Delivery Rates

*For orders placed before 12pm (Midday). For orders placed after 12pm (Midday) this service is 3 - 4 working days.

**Express delivery is available on certain products only. You may select your shipping options during the checkout.

Please note some postcodes e.g. Scottish Islands, Isle of Wight may incur excess shipping charges, we reserve the right to request this from out customers before shipment. If you do not want to incur this additional cost you may cancel your order and obtain a full refund.

All delivery deadline are subject to stock availability - in the unlikely event that we cannot meet your delivery expectations we will contact you immediately to make alternative arrangements. If you are unhappy with what we can offer then you are entitled to a full refund no-questions asked.

Sample Delivery Rates

All samples are delivered free of charge.

Nominated Delivery (request a delivery date)

Out nominated delivery services allows you to specify a day which your order is delivered on. Simply select nominated delivery in the checkout and then choose the date most convenient for you.

If your order is placed before 12pm (Midday_ then the earliest available date will be 4 working days from the current date. If your order order is placed after 12pm (Midday) then the earliest available date will be 5 workings days from the current date.

Sunadys and Bank Holidays are not available for nominated delivery. Currently nominated delivery is only available for UK mainland addresses only.

How can I track the status of my order?

We pride ourselves on great customer services and communication – during the order process you will receive several emails to keep you up to date with the status of your order and also when it has been dispatched. Packaging information

We have an excellent relationship with our courier services and all orders are meticulously packed using a variety of materials to ensure the sheets arrive in excellent condition. Where necessary, larger sheets may be shipped on a pallet(s) to guarantee against breakage.

Delivery to alternate address

If you require your order to be sent to an address different to the billing address you may do this during the checkout process.

Collecting orders in person

If you wish to collect your order in person please select ‘collect in person’ from the delivery options in the checkout.All orders collected in person will not incur any delivery charges. Our premises is located in Lee Mill Industrial Estate, Devon.
